Hello Cougar Families

This is it!! The final stretch of the first quarter, the last week before Fall Break & the final turn in day for Cookie Dough. Mark your calendars for parent/teacher conferences on Thursday 3:30-6:30, no appointment required to speak with teachers. Friday is Professional Development Day for teachers, students DO NOT attend school on Friday. Next week is Fall Break, no school for students and our office will be closed all week long.

Tuesday, October 1st is the LAST DAY to turn in Cookie Dough orders and money. We can't wait to celebrate participants with prizes, remember one box will earn your student free concession during a fun Friday! Selling 5 items is a pajama day - 10 items is a field trip to the movies - 20 items is a money grab & top salesperson earns a $50 gift card! Every class that has a 3 item average per student gets a popcorn/movie/cell phone party. We're excited to see the final results of our fundraiser and grade level competitions.

Basketball Try Outs Rescheduled

Due to weather, both Boys & Girls Basketball tryouts are rescheduled for Monday & Tuesday after school 3-5pm. A current physical dated after 4/15/24 must be on file to try out. See Coach Gilbreath for questions or email agilbreath@mauryk12.org

Parent Teacher Conferences

It's end of the first quarter. Please mark your calendars to join us on Thursday for conferences. Teachers will be available, no appointment necessary.

Before & After School Tutoring

Fall Break

No school for students on Friday, Oct. 4 - teachers have in-service day. School office will be closed Oct 7-11.

Important Reminders

Students cannot be dropped off before 7am
Students arriving after 7:45am are considered tardy
No early sign outs after 2:15pm
Students not staying for authorized after school activities must be picked up by 3pm
Government issued ID is required to enter our building
We enforce MCPS dress code. Students must be covered from shoulders to 3" above the knee. Leggings & yoga pants are not allowed unless worn with a tunic type top. House shoes, hats and hoodies are not to be worn in the building. Full dress code can be found on our website

Fun Fridays Are Back

We're bringing back Fun Fridays! Each week students can earn the opportunity for free time and $1 concessions by meeting schoolwide expectations. From Thursday to Thursday, students should have all their work completed, arrive to class on time for every period and not have any suspensions.

Student Meals

All students eat breakfast and lunch for free. You may add money to your student's account at www.schoolcafe.com OR have your student bring money to the cafeteria to fund their account for extra treats. Please click the link below to view the menus.
