Why Attendance Matters

What is Chronic Absenteeism?


Chronic Absenteeism means a student misses 10% or more of the school year for any reason - excused or unexcused.

Absences Add Up Quickly


While some absences are unavoidable, they add up quickly.  Missing 18 days of school over the course of a sschool year can significantly impact academic acheivement

Research consistently shows that students who attend school regularly are more likely to achieve academic success, stay engaged in learning, and graduate prepared for future opportunities.
