What a fantastic Cougar Carnival! We're happy to say, at some point, every student in the buidling had an opportunity to go outside and enjoy the activities. We really appreciate the volunteers from Central's Class of 2025 and the CHS baseball team that joined in the festivities - our students were so excited to spend time with the highschoolers. A special shout out to our staff, who worked tirelessly all day to ensure everyone had fun. Be sure to check out our carnvial post of Facebook for pictures! We had a great day but we're already making plans for a bigger and better Cougar Carnival next year!
On line Registration is required for all MCPS students. Registration is an opportunity for guardians to update contact information including who can and cannot pick up your student. Along with providing vital information for the nurse and transportation department. 3 proofs of address are required in the guardians name - one proof must be dated within the last 30 days to show current residency. Registration will NOT be processed until all requirements have been fulfilled. You may attach required documents during registration, deliver to school or email to mshamburg@mauryk12.org.
Wrapping up the last week of school with these activities:
- W. 7th Church of Christ invites all CMS athletes and their families to join us at the athletic banquet on May 19 at 6pm
- Award presentations for 5th, 6th & 7th grade on May 21st at 1pm. This is invitation only event for the families of those receiving an award. Early sign is available with the permission slip that was also sent home. Early sign out will still be available after awards but there may be a longer wait - permission slips are recommended and should be returned on Monday.
- 8th grade awards are May 22 at 9:30am. Invitations were sent home to the families of students receiving an award. Only invited guests/families may attend.
- 8th grade Clap Out!!! Immediately following 8th grade awards, we will celebrate our 8th graders with a clap out. Families are encouraged to line the sidewalks at the back of school at 10:30am to clap & cheer for their last day at CMS. Students may be released early with returned permission slips. Early sign out is still available after clap out, but it is recommended to return permission slips to avoid waiting in line. We will not have a "graduation" ceremony.
- Lost & Found: We show daily pictures of our lost & found items on the TVs within the building. If your student has lost something, please have them check with Ms. NeeCee in the counselors office ASAP. All items will be donated at the end of the year.
- Several Sports Try Outs - see info below - all students must have a physical dated after 4/15/25.
