Hello Cougar Families

We're looking forward to another great week at CMS! Just 2 more weeks to go - remind your students to finish the semester strong. We're so proud of their accomplishments in the last 16 weeks!

If you missed the parade last night - you missed out on a grand time! A huge shout out to our EA Cox Middle School band and their director Mr. Mitchell - y'all did a fabulous job! Not sure how you all read music in the dark, marched, played instruments, kept pace with eachother and made it all look effortless - great job!

We continue our 12 days of Christmas themes - sport Santa hats tomorrow, Tuesday is dress like an elf, Wednesday wear red & green for Feliz Navidad, followed by flannel on Thursday & Christmas lights on Friday.

After school tutoring & clubs will continue this week.

One quick note about Christmas Angels - if you adopted angels - gifts can be turned into the office all week but the final deadline is Monday, Dec. 16th. Mrs. Owens will contact families with pick up instructions during that last week of school.

After School Tutoring

Tutoring is available for all students immediately after school Monday - Thursday. Parents must pick students up by 4pm. If this becomes an issue your child will be eliminated from afternoon tutoring.

Lost & Found

As temperatures fluctuate during the day - students take off their jackets, hoodies, sweatshirts, etc. and leave them in random places. As we collect these items, we broadcast them across the in-school monitors & ask students to claim the missing items in the counselor's office. If your child has misplaced something, please have them check lost & found. All remaining items will be donated before Winter Break.

Important Reminders

Students cannot be dropped off before 7am
Students arriving after 7:45am are considered tardy
No early sign outs after 2:15pm
Students not staying for authorized after school activities must be picked up by 3pm
Government issued ID is required to enter our building
We enforce MCPS dress code. Students must be covered from shoulders to 3" above the knee. Leggings & yoga pants are not allowed unless worn with a tunic type top. House shoes, hats and hoodies are not to be worn in the building. Full dress code can be found on our website

Fun Fridays Are Back

We're bringing back Fun Fridays! Each week students can earn the opportunity for free time and $1 concessions by meeting schoolwide expectations. From Thursday to Thursday, students should have all their work completed, arrive to class on time for every period and not have any office referrals.

Student Meals

All students eat breakfast and lunch for free. You may add money to your student's account at www.schoolcafe.com OR have your student bring money to the cafeteria to fund their account for extra treats. Please click the link below to view the menus.
